PROJECTS over the years
Hoiana Shores showcases an excellent course of impeccable design by the very genius of Robert Trent Jones Jr.
The course highlights unspoiled and natural looking terrain, with an amazing coastline that gives golfers spectacular views of not just the course - but also the Eastern Sea and the nature around. The course, which is also close to the famous Cham Islands, offers a Golf Club (HSGC) which provides exciting and engaging links golf experiences for every level of golfer.
Linksshape worked on this course extensively from start to finish, and we faced various obstacles involving new changes thanks to weather and many other common course construction subjects. Regardless, our Vietnam team succeeded in managing the construction of the amazing Hoiana course. The course, constructed with an environmentally friendly mindset by Robert Trent Jones Jr., offers a delight to players with the low-impact nature of this course.
We are very proud to have constructed this amazing course, and to have experienced working alongside many amazing industry professionals.
The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip is a Greg Norman designed golf course located on the southern Vietnamese coastline, around 80 kilometres southeast of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. The uniquely designed links style par-71 golf course was named “Best New Course of 2014” by industry bible Golf Digest and was rated #74 in the 2016 Golf Digest Global Top 100 golf courses. It is an exceptional course that is recognised and held in high esteem internationally.
As the main contractor, Linksshape worked closely with course designer Greg Norman and consultants from IMG Golf Course Services in order to create this masterpiece. It is built on a coastal plateau elevated 50 meters above sea-level, with salty sea breezes often flowing onto the site - a benefit granted from it’s unique geographical layout. The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip features towering dunes near the sea with hole routing allowing for increased challenge for even the best of golfers, thanks to the affect of the seaside winds. Next to the course is The Grand Ho Tram Strip golf resort which is a 5-star hotel featuring a casinon, making this course the first in Vietnam to combine a casino, resort and golf course all at once.
Ba Na Hills Golf Club was Luke Donald’s first design project, constructed with the contributions of Linksshape under the management of IMG. Linksshape was contracted to undertake the site clearance, bulk cut & fill, and rough shaping.
This professionally designed and internationally recognised course features 18 holes - stretching over 7,800 yards, Vietnam’s longest - and a spectacular sunset view every evening. In fact, this course is a pleasant alternative to the traditional and boasts a peaceful setting away from the coastline with lower winds.
The courses 18 holes are all comprehensively lit, allowing golfers to play in the evening or as dusk settles in delivering a relaxing and beautiful sight - a truly unique experience that fits in perfectly for a world-class golf course. Included in the course is a golf academy with onsite PGA professionals.
Discovery Bay Golf Club
DB Lan Tau Island, Hong Kong
Discovery Bay Golf Club is set against the mountainous backdrop of Lantau Island, one of the many islands which dot around Hong Kong. The course was originally constructed to be wholly reliant on external water suppliers, however Linksshape re-engineered the surface water catchment and constructed the rest of the system involved for this unique course. As a result of our works, Discovery Bay Golf Club significantly reduced it’s water consumption of potable water.
Within Southeast Asia the Golf Club has established itself as one of the best golf courses to play on. Here there are three unique layouts, the Diamond, Jade and Ruby nines. The original 18-hole course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, and is a fantastic play for golfers of all levels of skill. The course also grants its players a unique and splendid view of the Victoria Harbour, Sunset Peak, and the South China sea.

Da Nang, Vietnam
BRG Da Nang Golf Resort was opened in 2010 and quickly rose to be “one of the 15 best new courses in the world” by USA Golf Magazine. The course is located 20 minutes away from Da Nang Airport, and 20 minutes from Hoi An - the famed City of Lanterns. As The Dunes' main contractor, Linksshape had to deal with incredibly unique challenges, some of which is not limited to the clearance of mines and unexploded bombs. Given Vietnam's turbulent and passionate history, Linksshape is proud to have put our beliefs in ethical and environmental concerns to work for the betterment of the area.
Measuring a full 7,160 yards, the course features sculpted bunkering, shaped putting greens, and large natural waste areas cut directly from the surrounding sand dunes. BRG Da Nang Golf Resort’s Greg Norman designed 18-hole course is links style golf in the truest sense. The course was subsequently named "Best Course in Asia" by the readers of Asian Golf Monthly in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In the Golf Digest 2012 issue it was also awarded Best Golf Course in Vietnam and landed an IAGTO Diamond Award in 2014.
The Academy Course
Clear Water Bay, Hong Kong
Linksshape has maintained a constructive and supportive presence at Clear Water Bay Golf & Country Club since 2006, having persevered and delivered many successful jobs to the highest standard. The Academy course is one of the latest in a long line of projects undertaken by our company, and the course is an Asian pioneer in the use of artificial synthetic greens. Synthetic greens offer high quality and near natural performance for a fraction of the maintenance upkeep, rising up to the standards of both the golfers and the clubs requirements over the years ahead.
The Academy course layout is unique in which it allows for ‘soccer golf’ and ‘frisbee golf’ to be played on, while at the same time sporting this new and innovative technology upgrade. After a game, near the Academy is the Oasis bar-restaurant where players can go to enjoy a good view of the perfect lawn, playground, Academy greens and Tong Lung island ahead. It’s clear that the Academy is a course that can be enjoyed not just by beginners, but by family-orientated players and the public of Hong Kong.
